Why racking gets inspected

Keeping a pallet racking installation in good working condition is essential for safe operation and for a long service life. A safety audit is the way to keep racking safe and complying with Australian workplace health and safety standards.

Damage is rarely obvious. A forklift clips an upright, the column takes a set, and the bay carries its load for months before anything changes. An audit finds it while it is still a repair rather than a collapse.

What the audit involves

• A qualified engineer is booked to attend your work site.
• The installation is inspected bay by bay, including uprights, beams, bracing, footplates and fixings.
• A report is compiled setting out the damage found and its severity.
• Recommendations are made to improve or repair the racking.
• On completion of repairs or alterations, a compliance certificate is issued.

Racking we inspect

We carry out safety inspections on all racking types, not only our own. That includes imported Dexion copies such as those manufactured by Nanjing Boracs Logistics Equipment and Nanjing Aivis Shelve Manufacturing, and many others besides.

Repairs and replacement

Because we manufacture, we can supply the replacement upright, beam or footplate rather than condemning the run. Where a system is discontinued, we match the profile and connector so new components tie into the existing structure.

Load signage

Maintenance and load safety signs are a mandatory requirement with the installation of every pallet racking system accessed by a forklift, or where the top beam level is greater than 2400mm from the ground. If your signage is missing, faded or no longer matches the configuration on the floor, the audit will pick it up.
